The Sandwich Rules feature in HRStop allows you to manage attendance more accurately by counting weekends or holidays as absences when they fall around an employee’s leave. This guide explains how to enable and configure the Sandwich Rules.
Steps to Enable Sandwich Rules
- Navigate to the Settings
Go to Control Panel → Settings → Attendance → Configure. - Enable Sandwich Rules
Scroll down to the Sandwich Policy section. Check the box next to Enable Sandwich Rules. - Configure the Rules
Below are the available options you can customize according to your attendance policy:- Week Off/Holidays IN BETWEEN Absences (AWWA)
Marks holidays/weekends between absences as additional absence days.
Example: If an employee is absent from Friday to Monday and Saturday/Sunday are holidays, the absence count will be 4 (Friday to Monday), not just 2. - Week Off/Holidays AFTER Absence (AWW)
Marks holidays/weekends following an absence as additional absence days.
Example: If an employee is absent on Friday and Saturday/Sunday are holidays, the absence count will be 3 (Friday + Saturday/Sunday), instead of just 1. - Week Off/Holidays BEFORE Absence (WWA)
Marks holidays/weekends before an absence as additional absence days.
Example: If Saturday/Sunday are holidays and the employee is absent on Monday, the absence count will be 3 (Saturday/Sunday + Monday), not just 1. - Absent and Week Offs/Holidays at the Beginning of the Month (WAP/AWP)
Marks holidays/weekends before or after an absence in the first week of the month as additional absence days.
Example: If the 1st is a holiday, the 2nd is an absence, and the 3rd is present, the absence count will be 2. - Absent and Week Offs/Holidays at the End of the Month (PAW)
Marks holidays/weekends before or after an absence at the end of the month as additional absence days.
Example: For a 30-day month, if the 29th is an absence and the 30th is a holiday, the absence count will be 2.
- Week Off/Holidays IN BETWEEN Absences (AWWA)
Conclusion
By enabling and configuring the Sandwich Rules, you can ensure a more accurate attendance calculation for employees with leaves that span over weekends or holidays. This feature helps maintain a fair and consistent absence tracking process.
